Cooking Light FitHouse to open June 5 at Escavera

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The 2004 Cooking Light FitHouse will open Saturday, June 5, 2004, at
Escavera in Castle Rock, Co. The 5,400-square-foot FitHouse embodies the Cooking Light
philosophy—every aspect of the house, from the design to the health-conscious building
materials to the furnishings, is dedicated to encouraging a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

Keeping true to the healthy lifestyle message of Cooking Light, the FitHouse differentiates itself
from other “show homes” by focusing on physical, mental and environmental fitness. The concept
for FitHouse derived from the simple idea of bringing the Cooking Light lifestyle to life and pioneering
an intelligent way to incorporate healthy living into every aspect of every day. The result is a warm
and inviting home that is environmentally friendly in its design, construction, and landscape. The
2004 FitHouse highlights the outdoor lifestyle of the Rocky Mountains and conforms to Colorado’s
Built Green Program standards.

The 2004 Cooking Light FitHouse will be open to the public from June 5 until September 26, 2004.
Visitors can tour the home Wednesday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday,
from 1 to 5 p.m. The FitHouse will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Tickets to the home will be
available at the door and can be purchased for $5. A portion of the proceeds from the ticket sales
will benefit the Douglas County Community Foundation and the Douglas Land Conservancy.

The 2004 Cooking Light FitHouse was designed by Ken Pieper, of Ken Pieper and Associates, Inc.
The exterior and interior materials and furnishings were designed and selected by Dianne Pieper,
of the same firm. Caribou Custom Homes, Inc., led by Clyde Rivard, managed the construction
of the house. The FitHouse will be featured in the August issue of Cooking Light, available on
newsstands July 29. For more information, please visit www.cookinglight.com or call 1-866-304-6223.
