Ken
Pieper
From budding artist in Texas, to leading designer of mountain lodges and
estates throughout
America and Canada.
Ken's artistic roots
began more than 40 years ago in South Texas. His father was well-regarded
for his imaginative carpentry and fine woodworking. He passed this talent
and work ethic on to
Ken at a very young age. At the same time, Ken was developing his talents
in fine arts and
drawing. As his career grew, he became highly sought after for his instantly
recognizable and
distinctive style of vibrant watercolor illustrations for homebuilders.
this talent evolved into designing suburban homes for homebuilders through-
out the U.S. When he and his wife, Dianne, moved to Evergreen, Colorado,
he was inspired by the
magnificent, massive timber construction of mountain lodges and estates.
After designing several
of these homes, news of his fresh approach to design spread throughout
the Colorado and into
Utah, Wyoming, Montana, California and then back over to North Carolina,
the Adirondacks, and
now coast-to-coast and into Canada.
As a professional
designer, he works closely with the architects and structural engineers
on his
team and directs the careful execution of his designs. He pays close attention
to new kinds of
building materials and incorporates the latest technologies whether they
be for energy efficiency
or the latest in home entertainment and media rooms. While Ken is designing
the exterior and
floor plan design, Dianne Pieper, an award-winning designer of interiors,
often works on the
same projects to maximize the synergy of their talents. Together, they
work closely with the
homeowners to assure everyone's vision is in alignment.
Because Ken is also
a constructor of homes from start to finish, he knows what works. An empty
piece of mountaintop with its raw unexplored views is a thrilling experience
for both Ken and his
clients. He painstakingly incorporates the topography of the land and
surroundings into his
overall design.
Validating Ken Pieper's
designs are the numerous accolades from his peers and the professional
associations of which he is a member. His latest work can be found throughout
this website and
throughout America's high country.
